János Kajdacsi is an emblematic member of the Hungarian cactus and bromeliad collectors, not because of his large collection or huge glasshouse but because his camera and wonderful photographs. During his travels he travelled in many countries on the American continent, searching for cacti, but he also travels a lot in the forests and on the lands of Hungary, to take photos on wild orchids of Hungary. At home, on the parking place in front of his building estate house he established a nice rock garden, planted by cacti and other succulents, which is one of the most curious, wondering and special winter hardy cactus gardens in Budapest. He has been collecting cacti for over 23-25 years, since he visited Gyula Szutorisz for the first. Nevertheless, his love with the Tillandsia species is much older, began around 30 years ago on an exhibition in the Botanical Garden of the Eötvös Loránd University, where he met László Bene. Among cacti, he has a love with Melocactus taxa especially. He got the Anisits Award of the Hungarian Cactus Society in 2010.
